Yavapai County Sheriff's Office Deploys SoRite DECON and Defense Cleanse Products to Enhance Officer and Public Safety

NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 1, 2026 — The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office in Arizona has announced the agency-wide rollout of the SoRite Company's DECON and Defense Cleanse products as part of its continuing efforts to reduce operational risks. These threats are often associated with narcotics contamination and chemical-agent exposure that deputies routinely face while responding to drug investigations, enforcement operations, jail-related incidents, and tactical deployments.

SoRite® DECON neutralize dangerous narcotics residues emanating from fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, xylazine, and other narcotics in approximately 60 seconds using a low-toxicity sodium chlorite formula. SoRite® Defense Cleanse deactivates chemical irritants and removes contaminants from the skin resulting from the deployment of OC spray, CS tear gas, and CN riot-control agents.

Under the deployment plan, more than 200 sworn personnel across Yavapai County will have access to both products. DECON is expected to play a significant role in operations conducted by the Sheriff’s Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking Taskforce, while Defense Cleanse is particularly suited for patrol deputies, detention officers, SWAT personnel and Special Response Team members who may encounter chemical-agent exposure during critical incidents.

Yavapai County Sheriff David Rhodes said that the impetus to deploy DECON and Defense Cleanse was based on his office wanting practical solutions that could help protect deputies, detention personnel, suspects, and members of the public from accidental exposure to dangerous narcotics and tear-gas agents.

"Our responsibility is to safeguard everyone involved in an incident, including our personnel, the public, and the individuals we encounter during enforcement actions," Rhodes said. "Managing the risks associated with narcotics contamination and tear-gas exposure is an important part of that mission. We wanted solutions proven to be effective, dependable, practical, and easy to use. DECON and Defense Cleanse exceed these requirements and have rapidly become important components of our overall risk-mitigation strategy."
