K9 SoRite DECON Protocol
Every deployment carries risk. While K9 teams are trained to identify threats, many contaminants cannot be seen, smelled, or recognized until exposure has already occurred.
Narcotics, fentanyl, xylazine, methamphetamine, and other hazardous substances can be transferred from the operational environment to a K9's paws, coat, equipment, vehicles, kennels, and duty gear. Left unaddressed, these contaminants may continue to spread long after the mission is complete.
The K9 SoRite DECON Protocol was developed to help handlers reduce the potential transfer of hazardous contaminants through a simple, practical, and repeatable decontamination process. Built around real-world operational environments, the protocol provides guidance for decontaminating K9s, equipment, vehicles, and exposed surfaces following deployments where contamination may be present.
