FAST. SAFE. EFFECTIVE

Protect the Dog That Protects You
What You Don't See Can Follow You Home
Every deployment carries risk. While K9 teams are trained to identify threats, many contaminants cannot be seen, smelled, or recognized until exposure has already occurred.
Narcotics, fentanyl, xylazine, and methamphetamine can be transferred from the operational environment to a K9's paws, coat, equipment, vehicles, kennels, and duty gear. Left unaddressed, these contaminants may continue to spread long after the mission is complete — to patrol vehicles, stations, and even the home.
The K9 SoRite DECON Protocol was developed to help handlers reduce the potential transfer of hazardous contaminants through a simple, practical, and repeatable decontamination process.
Cloak It. Soak It. Bag It.
-
Cloak It
Immediately cover and isolate the K9's paws, coat, and any exposed gear using SoRite DECON towelettes. This first step contains contamination and prevents further spread to the handler, vehicle, or surrounding area.
-
Soak It
Apply SoRite DECON solution directly to the K9's paws, coat, and any contact surfaces. Our patented sodium chlorite formula oxidizes fentanyl, meth, xylazine, and other narcotics in 60 seconds — non-toxic, safe on K9 skin, and requiring no mixing or PPE.
-
Bag It
Secure and properly dispose of all contaminated materials — towelettes, gloves, and any disposable gear — in a sealed bag. Document the decon event as part of standard operational protocol and log it for chain-of-custody and safety records.
The SoRite DECON Process
Why It Matters
Contamination does not stay at the scene. What is picked up in the field can unknowingly transfer to patrol vehicles, stations, kennels, training facilities, and even the home.
The goal of the K9 SoRite DECON Protocol is to help reduce secondary contamination risks while supporting the health and safety of K9 teams, fellow officers, family members, and the communities they serve.
Training Objectives
- Understanding contamination transfer pathways
- Recognizing potential exposure environments
- Proper deployment of SoRite® DECON products
- K9 decontamination procedures
- Equipment and vehicle decontamination
- Evidence handling considerations
- Operational best practices for reducing secondary contamination
